Which activity is suitable for young infants?

Hanging mobiles and bright toys is an excellent activity for young infants because it engages their developing senses and promotes visual tracking. Infants are attracted to bright colors and movement, which can stimulate their visual development and capture their attention. This activity encourages them to reach out, bat at, or focus on the hanging toys, fostering both fine motor skills and cognitive awareness.

In contrast, activities like playing video games, running and jumping games, or building with blocks are not suitable for young infants. Video games require advanced cognitive and motor skills that infants do not possess. Likewise, running and jumping games are physically demanding and beyond the capabilities of infants, who are still developing basic motor skills like rolling over and sitting up. Building with blocks, while beneficial for older toddlers, requires a level of fine motor coordination and understanding of spatial relationships that infants have not yet developed.
